Valdy Wiratama attended the 34th ACM Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (UMAP 2026), which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden. ACM UMAP is a CORE A-ranked venue.

At the conference, he presented his paper, Towards a Stakeholder-Centered Auditing Framework for Assessing Fairness in (Music) Recommender Systems, as part of the Doctoral Consortium. The paper outlines his PhD research on algorithmic auditing for fairness in recommender systems, with the aim of developing an auditing framework that accounts for multiple stakeholder perspectives and interests in the music domain.

During the Doctoral Consortium, Valdy received valuable feedback from his mentors, Nava Tintarev and Robin Burke, as well as from other researchers working on personalization, recommender systems, and human-centered AI. The feedback offered useful input for further developing the framework and refining the research scope.

Beyond presenting his research, Valdy also served as a student volunteer at the conference. This role offered valuable opportunities to engage with the international UMAP community and to gain insight into how scientific conferences are organized.
