Keynote at LEA-Netzwerktreffen 2026 in Salzburg

On 11 June 2026, Christine Bauer delivered the keynote at the LEA-Netzwerktreffen 2026 in Salzburg. The event brought together LEA Role Models and representatives from education and industry to discuss the future of AI and the importance of greater diversity in the technology sector.
The event opened with a presentation by LEA Board Member Eleonora Kleibel, who introduced the Austrian federal government’s She goes AI initiative. This initiative aims to encourage more women to engage in artificial intelligence, strengthen their skills, and increase their visibility in this rapidly evolving field.
In her keynote entitled Stereotypes in the development and application of AI, Christine Bauer explored the challenges and opportunities associated with the responsible and equitable development and application of AI. She particularly highlighted how stereotypes and biases can shape both the design and application of AI.
The discussion that followed brought together a range of perspectives and experiences, underscoring how important networking and knowledge exchange are for shaping a diverse future for AI.
The research group thanks LEA for the invitation and all participants for the engaging discussion and valuable insights.
