Reflecting on the First AlpCHI Conference

The first AlpCHI Conference took place on the picturesque Monte Verità near Ascona, Switzerland.
Christine Bauer joined a dedicated team of HCI researchers to organize the inaugural conference, which aimed to create a small, welcoming environment for thoughtful exchange within the HCI community. The event successfully brought this vision to life through inspiring talks and engaging discussions.
The conference featured four distinguished keynote speakers—
Yvonne Rogers,
Elisabeth André,
David Kim, and
Harald Reiterer—
whose talks sparked many interesting discussions.
The organizing team included:
- Christine Bauer (University of Salzburg)
- Tiare Feuchtner (University of Konstanz)
- Michael Haller (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano)
- Denis Lalanne (University of Fribourg)
- Johannes Schöning (University of St. Gallen)
- Verena Zimmermann (ETH Zürich)
- Anke Reinschluessel (University of Konstanz)
- Alexandre De Masi (University of Geneva)
- Jannis Strecker-Bischoff (University of St. Gallen)
Special thanks are extended to the teams at Monte Verità and Congressi Stefano Franscini for hosting the conference.
The AlpCHI community looks forward to the next edition of AlpCHI in 2028 in Konstanz.
